Poster Abstract Submission & Presenter Guidelines

Thank you for your interest in participating as a poster presenter in El Rio Health’s 10th Annual Poster Fair at the 2026 Southwestern Primary Care Research & Innovation Summit. This page provides guidance for submitting a poster abstract and for preparing an accepted poster for the El Rio Health Annual Poster Fair. Check back regularly for updates. Project Categories

Abstract Submission Deadline: February 23, 2026

We are seeking posters in the following categories:

Research Posters

Systematic investigation addressing real-world primary care or public health questions.

  • IRB determination status required or exemption noted.
  • Quantitative, qualitative, or mixed methods.

  • Quality Improvement (QI) Posters

    Aim-driven projects focused on improving patient outcomes, access, or system performance.

  • PDSA or equivalent methods.
  • Outcomes may be process or clinical.

  • Innovation & Program Design Posters

    New models, workflows, or programs that improve care but may not fit traditional research or QI.

  • Focus on feasibility, relevance, and potential impact

  • Abstract Criteria

    (Applies to all submissions)

    • Abstracts are welcome from all disciplines, provided the project relates to primary care, public health, community health, or community-based practice.

    • Submitters must have permission to present findings and/or data from all involved community partners, organizations, or project collaborators, as applicable.

    • Projects should have undergone an appropriate internal approval or oversight process, consistent with the nature of the work (e.g., IRB review or exemption for research, organizational or departmental approval for quality improvement or innovation projects).

    • A lead presenter must be identified. Learners are expected to list their faculty advisor, attending, or research sponsor as a co-author when applicable.

    • Abstracts must follow the required structure and be clear, concise, well-organized, and well-written.
